University College offers the following free tutoring services for Illinois State students at the Julia N. Visor Academic Center:
One-On-One Writing Assistance for any writing assignment, from freshmen English to graduate seminars. We also have specialists in APA style and AP/COM.
Weekly Study Groups for the following courses
These sessions are led by experienced undergraduates who are majors in the course area, have taken the course, and/or are recommended highly by the professors who teach the course. Students who sign up commit to coming once a week at the same time to get additional practice in the course. For students who have attended at least 8 sessions, nearly 90% of them received a C or better in the course.
These study groups are on a first-come, first-serve basis, and they do fill up early. Please call (309) 438-7100 for the latest availability.
Drop-In Tutoring is available for BIO 101, FCS 102, KNR 181, KNR 182, SOA 106, as well as the Basic Skills Test. Please click on the sidebar for specific information or call 438-7100 for the current hours.
