The hours of operation for the Math Lab are listed on your course syllabus and on the Lab door.
Bring your University ID card with you. The Lab staff will swipe your card, ask what section you are in, and what type of assistance you are seeking (help with homework or test corrections, for example).
Your ID card will be filed and kept at the desk until you check out. When you are ready to leave, provide your name at the desk and the receptionist will swipe your card and return it to you. Do not leave without your ID card!
The Math Lab offers free printing for your MAT 102 or MAT 104 course materials. You must supply your own paper. The paper must be printer/copier paper––no exceptions.
Tutors are expected to assist as many students as possible while working in the Lab. Do not be offended if a tutor leaves you to work on your own to assist another student. Working together is an added benefit.
Please ask for assistance when you need it; do not assume that the tutor knows you have a question.
The Math Lab staff is here to help you with your studies––not to teach or re-teach the material and not to complete assignments for you.
Pay attention to the questions the tutors ask, and try to ask yourself the same kinds of questions when you are working on your own.
If you experience technical difficulties using Blackboard, contact the Computer Help Desk at (309) 438-HELP. Instructors/tutors do not provide technical support; however, if you experience any problems using a computer in the Math Lab, please notify Math Lab staff.
