Applying to a Major
Submitting your application via iCampus
- All departments and schools accept major and minor applications through iCampus.
- Steps using iCampus
- Log-in to iCampus portal
- Choose the Academics tab
- Under “Academic Applications,” choose ‘Apply to My Program’
- The timeline for when departments and schools accept program applications varies. Many accept applications in February and September each semester. Others only may only accept applications in the fall, have continuous application periods, or accept applications several times during the semester.
Tips for Applying to your Program/Major
- Make sure that you have completed all pre-requisite requirements in order to be eligible for your intended major. Pre-requisites may include specific coursework, GPA requirements, written essay, and/or a plan of study.
- Do not procrastinate in submitting your application. Some departments and schools review applications in the order that they are received.
- Check your Illinois State email regularly after submitting your application. This is where you will receive your admittance decision.
- Meet with your academic advisor early so that you can adequately prepare for the application process.
