Courses taken while attending another college or university will not affect your Illinois State University GPA. Although credit hours can transfer to Illinois State, grades cannot. The only way to change your Illinois State GPA is by taking courses at Illinois State University.
Normally, the Reinstatement Committee will not consider another reinstatement request until a year has passed. You will need to reapply to Illinois State University by submitting an Application for Admission along with submitting a new Petition for Reinstatement.
At a certain point, students may be told by the Reinstatement Committee that "Because of repeated failure to do satisfactory work, you will not be reinstated at Illinois State again." If you receive this decision from the Reinstatement Committee, and have already utilized the New Start program, it is in your best interest to purse other options for your education. You will need to research transfer admission requirements at other colleges and/or universities. You may be required to attend a community college for a period of time.
